The Russian Government Regulations No. 683

The Russian Government Regulations No. 683 dated November 15, 2006 “On the establishment of the quota for the year 2007 for foreign employees working at economic entities performing activities in the retail sale sector in the territory of the Russian Federation”

The admissible quota of foreign employees working at economic entities performing the activities in the retail sale sector specified in the All-Russia Classifier of types of economic activities in the Russian Federation for the year 2007.

The quota for foreign workers in the retail sale of alcohol beverages, including beer (Code 52.25.1) has been established as 0% of the total number of employees; in the retail sale of pharmaceutical products (Code 52.31) – 0% of the total number; for working in booths and in the local markets (Code 52.62) and for other types of out-of-store retail sale (Code 52.63) – 40% of the total number of workers for the period January 15 – April 1, 2007 and 0% for the period April 1 – December 31, 2007.

The economic entities performing activities in the retail sale sector shall bring the number of the currently employed foreigners in compliance with the specified quota.

The proposals with respect to the subsequent year quota for foreign employees to be engaged in various economic sectors is submitted to the Russian Government by the Ministry of Healthcare and Social Development of the Russian Federation by 15 November each year.

The Regulations becomes effective on January 15, 2007.
