On 01  January 2012  an Agreement “On legal status of labor migrants and members of their families” dated 19 November 2010, concluded between the Government of Belarus Republic, the Government of Kazakhstan Republic and the Government of the Russian Federation comes into force.
The Agreement provides significant simplification of the order of staying and conduction of labor activity by labor migrants and members of their families.
In particular, the Agreement provides the following preferences:
- receiving of permits for labor activity in the territories of the states – parties of the Agreement;
- labor migrants and members of their families are freed from registration at the place of residence for 30 days from the date of entering the territory of the state of labor conduction;
- in case of preliminary cancellation of the labor contract after 90 days from the date of entering the territory of the state of labor conduction a labor migrant has the right to conclude a new labor contract within 15 days thereafter;
- social security (social insurance), excluding pension, of labor migrants is conducted in compliance with the legislation of the Russian Federation;
- children of labor migrants, who reside with them in the territory of the state of labor conduction, have the right to attend infant schools and get education. Also, the Agreement provides a number of other social guarantees.
